There are no local buses and very few taxis in the area.

You will not find taxis in the street to be flagged down and although there are some areas in towns where it looks like a taxi stand it is very unlikely that you will find a taxi there. Usually there will be telephone numbers. Most taxi firms have the health service as their major client (90%+). Do not be surprised if you are calling an ambulance firm or if the taxi has blue crosses on it! A list of local firms with taxis and their telephone numbers is given below. Most of these have only 2 - 4 taxis.

It is likely that your hotel or chambre d'hôtes will know somebody locally who will be willing to drive you. This is probably your best bet but you will have to try and arrange it on arrival.
