By Air

The nearest Airports are:

Pau. About 45 minutes. Pau no longer has direct flights to the UK and is only useful for connecting through Paris (Air France) or Amsterdam (Transavia seasonally and not daily).

Bordeaux. About 90 minutes. Bordeaux has a direct flight from Edinburgh in the summer months (Ryanair not daily). It also has several flights a day to London Gatwick (British Airways and Easyjet) and London Luton (Easyjet). Connections are also possible through Birmingham and Bristol (FlyBE seasonal). Also many flights to Paris.

Biarritz. About 110 minutes. Biarritz has flights from London (Ryanair and Easyjet), Dublin (Ryanair) and Paris.

Toulouse. About 140 minutes. Toulouse has a direct flight from Edinburgh in the summer months (Jet2 not daily). It has several flights a day to London (Air France to Heathrow, British Airways and Easyjet to Gatwick), Bristol (Easyjet) and to Paris (Air France and Easyjet).

If connecting through Paris pay special attention to arrival and departure airports - takes a while to switch from Charles de Gaulle to Orly. Similar attention for London.

By Train

The nearest station is Mont de Marsan about 40 minutes from Dazéma. Trains run from here to Bordeaux taking about an hour. From Bordeaux TGV trains run several time a day to Paris, Charles de Gaulle Airport and Lille and take about 3 - 4 hours depending on destination. Eurostar connects at Lille and Paris. Change of station required in Paris.

By Sea

The easiest route from Scotland is via Portsmouth and either Caen or St Malo (both by Brittany Ferries). There are both day and night sailings and it is quite pleasant to drive during the day to Portsmouth, take the night ferry (quite a civilised boat with decent cabins) and then drive South to Dazéma (good roads, about 6 hours). The main Channel crossings by boat or tunnel to Calais can also be used but these involve a much longer drive in France (about 9 hours and busy around Paris). For those looking for a mini-cruise there are crossings to Santander (4 hours to Dazéma) and Bilbao (3 hours to Dazéma) from Portsmouth and Plymouth. These take 30 - 48 hours.
